About Saverio
Saverio Gabrielli is an Italian violinist of refined artistic profile and extensive international experience, whose work is distinguished by interpretative depth, versatility, and a constant pursuit of excellence. After graduating with highest honours from the “F. E. Dall’Abaco” Conservatory in Verona, he continued his advanced studies under the guidance of the renowned violinist and professor Ilya Grubert at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, further consolidating a musical path that combines technical rigour with expressive maturity.
Throughout his artistic development, he has benefited from the guidance and inspiration of some of the most distinguished figures on the international music scene, including Pierre Amoyal, Ida Haendel, Pavel Berman, Vera Beths, Malcolm Bilson, Nobuko Imai, Nina Beilina, Liviu Prunaru, and Wolfgang Schröder, whose influence has contributed to shaping a broad and deeply informed musical vision.
As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed in prestigious venues across Europe, Asia, and Africa, appearing in countries such as Italy, Spain, Croatia, Switzerland, Hungary, Denmark, Finland, France, Georgia, Chile, Thailand, and Kenya. Alongside his concert activity, he has collaborated with leading orchestras, including I Cameristi della Scala in Milan, I Virtuosi Italiani, LaFil Filarmonica di Milano, the Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Fondazione Arena di Verona, assuming significant roles and contributing to the artistic quality of these ensembles.
Among the most meaningful moments of his career is his performance as soloist of Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons at the historic Chiesa della Pietà in Venice, a venue intrinsically linked to the composer’s life and work.
A particularly significant chapter of his career has been his role as Konzertmeister of the Dutch ensemble The String Soloists, led by violinist Lisa Jacobs, with whom he recorded violin concertos by Locatelli and Haydn and performed in renowned venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Over the years, he has also collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists including Richard Stoltzman, Arvo Pärt, Maxim Vengerov, Misha Maisky, Giovanni Sollima, Gautier Capuçon, Uto Ughi, and Paolo Fresu, experiences that reflect his openness and ability to engage with diverse musical languages and artistic perspectives.
Alongside the classical repertoire, his intellectual curiosity has led him towards crossover projects, including the recording of an album with the internationally renowned Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren, demonstrating a distinctive openness to contemporary and popular musical expressions.
In parallel with his performing career, Saverio Gabrielli has cultivated a strong interest in musicological research. He holds a trilingual Master’s degree in Musicology from the Free University of Bolzano, with a thesis focusing on the "violino di rinforzo in Francesco Antonio Bonporti’s Op. XI Concertos", reflecting a particular interest in lesser-known repertoire and historically informed performance practices. This research-oriented approach is further exemplified by the 2021 release of the CD "Due Italiani a Vienna", recorded in collaboration with guitarist Lorenzo Bernardi, which features the world premiere recording of Louis Spohr’s Grand Duo Op. 11 in Diabelli’s transcription, broadcast by Rai Radio3 and met with critical interest.
His interpretative sensitivity also finds expression in projects reaching a wider audience, as demonstrated by his performance of Gabriel Fauré’s Après un rêve, shared by Classic FM and widely acclaimed.
Alongside his artistic activity, he is a dedicated educator. He obtained his teaching qualifications by successfully passing two national public competitions in Italy, for both lower secondary (AM56) and upper secondary (AM55) education. In his pedagogical practice, he fosters a balance between discipline and creativity, guiding students of all ages towards a conscious pursuit of musical excellence and a deep, genuine engagement with the art of music.
A violinist, educator, and musicologist, Saverio Gabrielli embodies a complete artistic profile, driven by intellectual curiosity and an ongoing commitment to artistic refinement and quality. He performs on a fine 1642 violin by Franciscus Joseph Cappa and he is also an endorser of Corelli Solea strings, a collaboration that reflects his dedication to achieving the highest standards of sound and artistic expression.

My lessons are conceived as a comprehensive path of musical development, in which the cultivation of violin technique is constantly intertwined with the growth of a deep expressive awareness. The aim is not merely to “play well”, but to learn how to give meaning to music through a careful and attentive work on sound, phrasing, and the natural “breath” of musical singing, so that each performance may become personal, free, and authentic.
Particular attention is devoted to listening and to the quality of sound, which are essential elements in shaping a true musical identity. Within this process, each student is guided in discovering and enhancing their own unique qualities, developing confidence, artistic sensitivity, and interpretative independence.
My approach brings together discipline and creativity, rigour and imagination, with the intention of conveying not only technical skills, but also passion, enthusiasm, and a profound love for music, values that I consider essential in making it truly alive and meaningful.

Ciao a tutti!
Saverio è davvero un "superprof" :)View more recommendations
