About Maria
I have an extensive professional background from teaching and giving lectures at Wake Forest University about my research and work in the community to being part of the 4 top debate teams in the nation. I was a Spanish teacher at a Child Day Care here in Greensboro for a couple of months while in undergrad at Wake Forest where I taught students Spanish ages 2 to 9. I also have an extensive background in advocacy and policy and I support high school students on the side and provide services/consulting for access to Higher Education Institutions (I have successfully helped a handful of students attend universities on full ride scholarships). in addition, I administer my family business and currently expanding it. Lastly, I am pursuing law school and hope to attend next fall! I hope this sheds some light onto my character and work ethic as well as values that I uphold.

Spanish
Students of all ages and walks of life learn differently. Thankfully I have experience teaching children of all ages especially young toddler age children (after 2-4 weeks they begin to speak Spanish and are able to hold conversations!). I also have extensive expertise in American/World History as I ended up pursuing a Major in Sociology - they study of human societies and environments has reinforced and equipped my knowledge of history and why specific events evolved the way they did. Sometimes just sitting in class and learning the facts is not enough to fully understand the push and pull factors that led to those outcomes. Thank you and I look forward to meeting potential mentees and students!
