About Kai
My name is Kai Livermore, I was born and raised in Japan to foreign parents. When I was 17, I left Japan to study abroad and opened my own Japanese school. The school became very successful, and over the past eight years we have taught more than 300 students. Today, I live in Los Angeles and teach Japanese both online via Zoom and in person, to individuals and groups. I can teach in English, Japanese and Hebrew.

In my lessons, I teach students of all ages and levels. We work on all aspects of the language—reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Whether your goal is to learn simple phrases for a short trip to Japan or to reach fluent, confident conversation, I will adjust each lesson according to your needs.
Having grown up in Japan, I not only teach the language, I share the culture in an authentic and engaging way. We read books, watch animations, explore Japanese food, and learn about daily life in Japan. I also prepare students for the JLPT.
