Hi welcome to Phangan Mix Lab

Here are a few words on what to expect from the lessons and our philosophy behind it.

It’s never been easier to get into mixing and DJing with the advent of lots of cheap, easily available DJ hardware and software on the market, which is a great thing for all aspiring DJs, but this does come with a down side…..

Learning to mix using only laptops and controllers can take away from some of the essential skills needed to become a good DJ who is versatile enough to play on any system in any DJ box when computers and controllers are not available.

With this in mind we have created a ten hour introductory course moving away from laptops, focusing instead on the fundamental manual techniques and skills all DJs should possess, but sadly often lost to new digital DJs.

The course was designed and is run by a team of international DJs with experience spanning 3 decades, all of whom started mixing on vinyl in the 1990s and progressed into digital formats as they became available in the subsequent years, playing out to thousands of people around the globe.

Utilising this wealth of knowledge and experience we aim to teach you the fundamentals of mixing, using old school turntablism techniques combined with the knowledge and skills that today’s digital DJs use on the most state of the art equipment available on the market. Over the course we will be using industry standard Pioneer equipment and Rekordbox software, simply for the fact it is now found in most professional DJ boxes around the globe. (You will thank us later)

Not only will this course will give you a solid foundation and skill set that you can take forward and use confidently on any DJ set up, we also guarantee that by the end of the lessons you will come away with your very own mini mix tape, selected and mixed 100% by you!!

We aim to make this fun!! the courses are run in a relaxed environment with flexibility, going at the students own pace!

All courses are run by DJ's with over twenty years experience and have played and held residencies at some of the biggest parties and clubs on the planet.

We offer a 2 hour introduction session or 10 to 12 hour mini mix course, individually designed to teach you all the basics to go on and be confident on any DJ set up available!!

One to One tuition fully focusing on the students needs

About Andrew

I am a professional club DJ and former promoter with over 20 years experience! holding a recent 3 year residency at the world famous Fullmoon Party on Koh Phangan, also playing and organising other major events in Thailand.
During my time in Thailand I decided to set up Phangan MixLab DJ school on the island to help aspiring DJ's learn the craft the proper way, sticking to a more manual approach, and have had many successful students go on to start careers in the industry!

Hi there
Just a quick word how the lessons run and their costs.
Individual lessons are £20 an hour.
A basic introduction to DJing, 2 hour lesson is 40 pounds.
A 5 hour, get to know the fundamentals course is £90.
A full 10 hour Mini Mix course is £180 but more often than not, the courses run over by an hour or two for the same cost.
I take pride in all my students being 100% confident and capable by the time they finish the beginners course!
If that means putting a couple of extra hours in for free I'm more than happy too!
I also offer an advanced Playing Out Live, follow up course leading on from the Mini Mix course and offered at the same rates as above. This course goes much deeper and involves more complex transitions and shows students how to unlock Pioneer equipment to its full potential!!
