Hey guys!
I have over twenty years’ experience of teaching students from a very wide range of backgrounds. My key strength is my ability to motivate and inspire my students by designing lessons for your specific interests and needs.
During our first free lesson I'll assess your level and discover your goals and interests. Do you want to pass an exam like IELTS, CAE, FCE or TOEIC? Maybe you need to improve your academic writing skills before beginning a university course in an English-speaking country. Or perhaps you just want to improve your conversational English for travelling and socializing. You need Business English for meetings, presentations and emails? No problem! Discovering your interests allows me to motivate you by choosing language topics that you'll find fun and stimulating. Assessing your differing abilities in language skills (speaking, listening, pronunciation, reading, writing and vocabulary) will allow me design lessons that focus on your weaker areas. It's also important to discover what type of learner you are. Analytical students improve through a grammar-based approach while others benefit from a more holistic, communicative approach. I never teach the same lesson twice because every student is different.
Lesson by lesson you'll increase your fluency and confidence, improve your accuracy and notice your vocabulary grow. I believe that retention/memory is a big part of language learning so I frequently review the vocabulary, language structures and pronunciation features I've taught you to keep them fresh in your mind.
All you need to study online is a laptop/desktop and a good internet connection. Choose me for friendly, professional lessons-I'll definitely give you100%!

During my second year as DOS, an ISI inspection graded us as ‘outstanding’. I hope I am maintaining this standard by listening to and acting on student evaluations in order to better tailor our classes to their specific needs and motivating my wonderful teaching staff, yet being sympathetic to their needs too.

During these courses I have been given highly positive observation feedback by the Course Directors.

Perfect! Gavin has been an excellent tutor specialise in academic English. He is patient and enthusiastic and really helped explain grammar concepts in a clear and understandable way. I highly recommend him and wouldn't hesitate to book him again in the future.
Li-Wei is a bright student with exceptional written English. He works hard and understands concepts quickly. His main interest is in improving his written academic English and he needs help with advanced grammar.
Gavin was my English teacher in London. He is an amazing and caring tutor and gave me all the attention I needed in my process of learning this beautiful language. Also, he was patient with all my mistakes and had always a smile on his face. It’s very hard to find a person with his energy and good predisposition to help his students. I would choose Gavin over and over again.
Gavin is a really friendly, talented and helpful tutor, I had a chance to train English with him, which was really productive. He is quite good at teaching all skills. I would say I've improved a lot when study English in his class. I firmly recommend him to all students that you will improve your English at the end of your course.
Gavin may be the best tutor I've ever had. He was my teacher in London and played a remarkable role helping me to achieve the score I needed for TOEFL. I scored 110/120, attending his classes for 4 weeks. He has great experience transferring grammar rules and stimulates students to speak all the time asking question with regard to different topics. This helped me by virtue of the fact that this method stimulates students to expand their vocabulary and use different idioms. It is important for all Tests (IELTS , TOEFL and CAMBRIDGE) exams to be able to use directly vocabulary at a high level. To this point, only a teacher who has grreat experience with these exams could helped me and considering my results, Gavin did a great job. I would like alsonto succinctly accentuate that during his classes he supported me with extra materials and exercises, while he explained all my questions. In light of the above I am completely satisfied with Gavin. He has the capacity to analyse and explain difficalt rules in English at a simple way, so that everyone can understand them very quickly. I would definitively recommend him as a great Tutor.
