About Alex
I am a bilingual Law graduate who studied through Welsh and English at Cardiff University and attended the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. I want to teach to inspire young people, promote the Welsh language, and create a supportive and engaging learning environment. My background in law and acting has developed my communication, confidence, and teamwork skills, allowing me to connect with pupils and encourage them to reach their full potential. I am passionate about helping learners grow academically, socially, and personally through positive and inclusive teaching.

I would teach Welsh by using a communicative and interactive approach, where pupils actively speak and use the language throughout the lesson. I would start with a short warm-up to review previous Welsh words, then introduce new vocabulary using visuals, repetition, and modelling pronunciation. I would encourage pupils to practise speaking through pair work, games, and simple conversations to build confidence. I would include listening, reading, and short writing tasks to reinforce learning, while using Welsh as much as possible in instructions. I would also include elements of Welsh culture to make the lesson engaging and meaningful. Finish with a short plenary to review what pupils have learnt and ensure they can use the new Welsh language independently.
