About Deborah
I received my B.A. from UCLA, and continued to my teaching credential from the Grad School of Ed at UCLA and went back to get my ECE credentials as well...I have been a tutor for at least two decades...I have also raised my own three children...my eldest went to Harvard, my other son went to GW and both graduated with top honors. My daughter chose to be home-schooled by me from fifth grade on...she finished her work February 2020, and is now taking online college courses during her gap year before she goes on to university.

My teaching method is to start with a diagnostic so that I can understand where the student currently is in a given topic, and then tailor my program to that student's needs and learning style. I like to give a lot of feedback and to constantly check for understanding. Any gaps or holes in the scope and sequence of the material get filled in along the way...we BOTH identify a destination (together)...and then I like to give a lot of tricks along the way to make the learning both fun and to simplify concepts.
