My method when tutoring in music, specifically practical lessons, is to engage the student as much as possible with interactivity. Warming up is crucial but should be fun! Engaging in a wide range of repertoire and ensuring that the fundamentals as set in stone is something I would focus on.
In terms of theory, starting sessions off with addressing any questions or concerns is key. I would then base the hour around a topic which the student would like to make progress in.
My lessons will be for any primary and secondary students - practical music lessons in Singing can range from grades 1-8. For piano, I would be teaching primary school children. And for music theory, anything up to A-level standard.
I am currently a University student with a great passion for teaching and tutoring music! Having had such inspiring teachers growing up in the field who led me to the level I am at now, I have learnt so much and wish to help other people to thrive musically.
