About Tessa
I am a violin tutor with over seven years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Historical Performance with a focus on Baroque violin. My greatest joy is working with young children and helping them develop strong ear training skills from an early age. I use playful and age-appropriate strategies to make learning fun and engaging. Storytelling, rhythm games, and movement are all part of my lessons. We learn simple melodies that build technique while keeping the imagination alive. I draw from Suzuki and Kodály inspired methods to create a well-rounded musical foundation. My students learn to listen carefully and respond to music with their whole bodies. I believe that a strong musical ear is the key to becoming a confident violinist. My lessons are filled with joy, creativity, and positive encouragement. Every child progresses at their own pace in a supportive environment. I love seeing my students discover the magic of making music with their own hands. This knowledge is essential for anyone who owns a violin, whether you are a beginner or an experienced player. I support students in developing good habits that extend the life of their instrument. My lessons include hands-on demonstrations so you can practice these skills yourself. You will learn to care for your violin just like you care for your voice. My goal is to help you keep your instrument in top condition for years to come.
