About Lavanya
I have over 10 years of experience teaching Chemistry and hold an MSc in the subject. I am passionate about helping students understand the important principles of green chemistry and sustainable synthesis. I focus on topics like atom economy, catalysis, solvent-free reactions, and waste reduction strategies. These concepts help students design chemical processes that are kinder to the environment. In my teaching, I emphasise responsible chemical practices. I believe that chemistry can be a powerful tool for innovation when used thoughtfully. I enjoy guiding students to think about how their work impacts the planet and how they can create safer, cleaner methods. My teaching approach in Chemistry focuses on clear explanations and practical problem-solving. I cover key topics like AP Chemistry test preparation, complex problem-solving, theoretical concepts, and experimental analysis. This helps students understand both the theory and application of chemistry. I use targeted drills and practice tests to build confidence and improve exam skills. These exercises focus on the areas students find most challenging. This method prepares students well for high-pressure test situations. I have experience working with students who are like epidemiologists and teacher-mentors, supporting them to reach their best. I guide students step-by-step, helping them develop strong problem-solving skills. Together, we work to boost confidence and reduce exam anxiety. My goal is to help students excel and feel ready on exam day. With the right practice and support, success is within reach.
