About Christa
I am a working freelance London-based portrait and performance photographer who has been photographing my communities both intimate and extended for over 20 years. 95% of my professional work engages with and supports artists and organisations with portraiture and through portraiture, photographic documentation of performance, cultural heritage and arts activity by and for local communities, in galleries, museums, universities, schools and public venues in London and across the UK.
My portrait work is both studio and location based, leaning more toward studio. I have extensive experience shooting with studio flashes in and out of the studio, using available light and a mix of the two, it all depends on who and what I'm shooting.
My performance documentation work can and does take place anywhere. Sometimes I know what I'll be shooting, others I have to hit the ground running just using available light.
I shoot with a Canon 5D MarkIII, use both Elinchrom and Profoto lights, and do all of my own retouching.

Let's have a chat about what you would like to learn. I can teach anything from the basics of getting off the 'Auto' mode, to lighting (studio flashes in and out of the studio/on location), to using ambient light or a mix of the two. From there we can talk composition, framing and move on to aperture, shutter speed. It's all up to what you're wanting to do!
