About Brandon
I hold a doctorate in English with an emphasis on rhetoric and composition. I have taught over twelve years in higher education and have experience teaching high school students. Thanks to me, students who struggled to "find something to say" have learned proven techniques and concepts that will generate ideas, focus those ideas, develop those ideas, and even impress people who might be skeptical of their ideas.

I blend methods of instruction. I offer brief lessons over important concepts, including the definitions of the concepts and, always, an explanation of why and when those concepts are most useful. I engage with students in question-answer sessions to help them find a narrow and promising way forward in their writing. I offer extensive feedback about the responses their writing prompts for an educated, friendly, skeptical, and unfamiliar audience. Students learn how to anticipate the needs of these readers and how to think habitually as effective communicators.
