About Renée
*Please note I am offering intensive revision lessons during half term*
I am a Human, Social and Political Sciences graduate from the University of Cambridge (BA Hons, 2022), and hold a Masters in Creative Non Fiction from the Royal College of Art (2024), where I developed my academic and creative writing. Throughout my studies, I consistently achieved first class marks in my essays and dissertations and I now use that experience to help students develop the skills needed to succeed in exams, coursework and university applications.
Alongside my studies, I have completed a number of research projects that have been recognised by leading universities. In 2019, I delivered award-winning research at Cardiff University exploring the transition from secondary school to college. I was also awarded a fully funded place on Bath University’s Social Sciences course, where I accessed their research facilities and attended lectures and workshops led by experts in the field. My academic background also includes top A level results, achieving full UMS in all Psychology exams alongside an A+ in Sociology and an A in English Literature.
During my time at university, I worked as a mentor with Zero Gravity, supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds with applications to top universities. I also worked within university outreach and access programmes aimed at widening participation in Russell Group institutions. These experiences strongly shape my approach to tutoring. I am passionate about using the world-class education I received at Cambridge to make academic spaces more inclusive and accessible for everyone.
Alongside my academic work, I am an active creative writer. My work has been submitted to over ten literary magazines, and I was one of the winners of the 2023 Creative Future Writers’ Award. I have also been longlisted for the Heroica Poetry Prize (2024) and Passionfruit Review’s “Being in Bodies” competition, and was recently commissioned by Art on the Underground to write a poetry piece.
I have extensive tutoring experience across a wide range of levels, from supporting KS2 students with spelling and literacy to helping postgraduate students develop and complete MA dissertations. My approach focuses on making lessons accessible, engaging and tailored to each student’s needs.
Most importantly, I genuinely love tutoring, it is my full-time profession. I put significant care and preparation into my lessons to ensure that every student feels supported, confident and able to reach their full potential. I also hold an enhanced DBS check and am available to start immediately.

Renée helped me a lot with my a levels. She was very clear and helped a lot with essay plans and structures.
Nay was an amazing tutor for my sociology a-level and she helped me so much with my personal statement, can’t recommend enough
I am a friend who met Renée at university. I also tutor, and therefore we have extensively discussed our approaches to teaching together. Renée is highly knowledgable, demonstrated by her excellent results in sociology at a degree level. She is also an experienced tutor, who has a personalised approach to teaching that means she will adapt each lesson to the needs of the student, rather than repeating standardised lesson plans. I would recommend Renée as a tutor to anyone who is struggling with learning only in the classroom, as she will supplement this with more personalised lessons focused on the specific areas you struggle in.
I would absolutely recommend Renée as a tutor, she went through everything I would need to pass English A-Level with me. In the end I managed to get an A* even though I’d been on Bs for most of the year. Highly recommend- very patient and calm.
I couldn’t recommend Renee enough , I had missed a few months of college and was falling behind majorly in my sociology a level . She was incredibly understanding of my situation and made sure I never left confused / needing to ask more questions . I not only achieved what I needed to to get into university , but 2 grades above that which is all thanks to the sessions I did with her :) also I have never had a tutor that is so thorough with their explanations so if you are struggling to understand in class I would really recommend her
Renee tutored me through my A level Psychology and Sociology coursework and after a few sessions improved my grade substantially! She is a great tutor and very passionate about the subjects she teaches - I highly recommend.
