About Jingyi
I recently graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Philosophy. I've been working at the writing center at Rutgers for about three years. I mainly help college students with college level writing classes, such as Expository Writing, Basic Composition and English As Academic Discourse. But I've also had experience working with high school students.

I base my classes on questions; that is to say, I typically start off a class examining a student's thesis by asking him or her questions. For example, who do you think this; why is it important; what do you mean by this; how does this theory work...I found this methodology to be highly effective because a lot of students are usually not very sure about what they want to express in their papers, and in the process of explaining to me, it helps them better clarify and organize their thoughts.
