About Bongi

My name is Bongi Nhlapo from Johannesburg, Gauteng Province. Teaching is my first career and my greatest passion in life. Have 24 years of teaching experience. Obtained a Bachelor of Pedagogics from the University of Fort Hare. Majored in English, Xhosa and Education. Also acquired certificates on TEFL Universal (Teach English as Foreign Language Abroad), Have taught isiXhosa from Grade 10-12 and to adults furthering their studies through ABET.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is to enhance the love and the pride of the language to my learners. It is also to teach learners the crucial language skills like reading, writing, communicating and listening. The focus is to help learners to master the grammatical dynamics and vocabulary of the language. Also to teach them different types of literature like poetry, novels and fiction. Among others to teach them Xhosa comprehension which will help them improve their reading, writing and critical thinking skills.

Perfect! Bongi really helped me to improve my Xhosa marks during matric. For my Xhosa P2, I went from a 56% in my June exams to a 91% in my preliminary exams.
She is kind, patient and explains things well. It was also easy to communicate with her and set up meetings. She's really good in both English and Xhosa which helped me to learn more easily. I would recommend Bongi to anyone who's trying to improve their marks for isiXhosa in school.
