About Mohona
Hi! I’m a Year 13 student currently studying A-Level English Literature, predicted an A*. I achieved full marks in my GCSE English Literature exam, so I can pinpoint exactly what it takes to succeed, not only through the lens of an examiner, but also from a student’s. I aim to highlight to students that English isn’t just about heaps of uninteresting analysis… It’s about them. It teaches you how to argue, empathise, dispute certain views, and express your ideas with certitude. That’s what makes it so influential, and that is why I am passionate to teach it. As a friendly and accommodating tutor, I can make English seem much less intimidating than it comes across, by crafting a safe and comfortable atmosphere where students are able to raise questions and develop confidence through my interactive lesson structures. Having been through GCSEs myself, I can relate to the pressure students feel, and I know how to transform that stress into success. Whether it’s analysing texts, tackling poetry, or perfecting essay structure, I’m here to help students feel more confident and equipped every step of the way!

As someone who can relate to the struggles of education being boring, repetitive and draining, I strive to make lessons engaging and informative whilst simultaneously getting you those top grades. I achieved full marks in my GCSE English Literature exam, hence equipping me with first-hand insights into what examiners are looking for and how to help students meet the criteria in a practical way. My lesson structure consists of basing my teaching upon the student's learning style and pace, as I can appreciate that every student is unique and different with their specific requirements. I break down the exam board’s texts and mark schemes into coherent yet condensed explanations, helping students feel in control of their learning. Prioritising building essay structure, analytical skills, and creative interpretation have been paramount to receiving a triumphant result, and I provide constructive and detailed feedback to help you improve. I strongly place emphasis on exam technique, as I have noted patterns of previous years' examinations, examiners' reports and what they are looking for. Utilising my personal model answers (fully annotated), paired with discussions and timed practice is my guaranteed fusion to success. I believe what differentiates me from other tutors is my ability to connect well with students and mould their thinking into creative criticality.
