About Rhiannon
I grew up all around Washington state, and have been involved with music my entire life. I did choir, competitive singing, musical theater, and other structured, formal music endeavors, but they weren't quite for me. Music was a hyperfixation for me, but it didn't quite suit me until I discovered riot grrrl music. Discovering the punk scenes around me as a child changed everything for me. I picked up my dad's bass guitar, and, using the wide spectrum of musical knowledge I'd gained, taught myself to play. I played in small local punk bands, before taking private lessons with a professional bassist to further my skills and knowledge. In late high school, I began teaching bass lessons to kids in middle school, and the rest is history!

Hi! I'm Rhiannon, I'm 20 years old, and I've been offering bass lessons to children and beginners since high school. I began playing bass at 13 years old, and have studied music, taken lessons, and most importantly, have performed onstage and in front of a crowd, which gives me a great skillset to get you started on the bass guitar.
As a tutor, I try to focus on functional fundamentals; I want to help you develop the necessary building blocks to become a bassist, but I want you to do it through playing, not just workbooks and questions. Trial and error is the best way to learn to play the bass, while simultaneously developing your own style and identity as a bass player. My goal is to get you out there and playing, while making sure you have a well-rounded skillset and understanding of the instrument to take you even further.
