About Laurie
Do you ever wonder why certain songs feel impossible to reach despite all your effort? I solve this by creating a personalized song list built around your specific vocal range.
We start with warm-up exercises to ensure your belting technique and pitch control are grounded in safety. I guide you through the differences between head and chest voice, making sure you understand how to transition between them seamlessly.
Sight singing and harmony singing are broken down into manageable parts for grade exam candidates and self-taught players. My goal is to ensure you feel secure in your ability to perform pieces that actually suit your unique voice. This structured approach allows hobbyists and returning learners to see consistent growth in their range. Does this sound like the kind of environment you would enjoy for your development?

You deserve a teacher who is honest about the physical reality of singing rather than someone who hides behind abstract concepts. I spent 12 years playing chanson and folk, which taught me that the voice is a flexible, living instrument. Because chanson does not work in translation, I learned to manage vocal nuance early in my career.
I work with everyone from kids to returning learners who want to find their confidence again. With 13 years of experience and 348 students taught, I have seen every type of vocal challenge imaginable. It is clear to me that technique should support the song, not restrict it. I hold a BM from Concordia University, providing a solid academic backbone to my hands-on, energetic style.
My teaching centers on creating a space where you feel comfortable making mistakes while you refine your sound. This is about building a sustainable, healthy habit for the long term. I promise to keep our focus on your progress without any fluff.
