About Garrett
Beginners and intermediate players often find themselves stuck in a cycle of repetitive mistakes during daily practice. I once spent hours obsessing over a single measure of a concerto until my fingers felt like lead.
Having 13 years of experience and a Master of Music in Vocal Studies from Queensland Conservatorium, I understand the frustration of technical plateaus. My approach emphasizes tuning by ear, spiccato and staccato bowing, vibrato, intonation, and music theory.

Pacing is the quietest part of my teaching, as I prefer to stop every few minutes to recalibrate your hand position. Sometimes I find myself nitpicking a single shift for 10 minutes until the movement feels completely fluid. With 13 years of experience, I provide recorded playback of tricky passages for home practice to ensure you never guess at a passage again. My degree from Queensland Conservatorium ensures that every exercise connects back to solid musical theory.
