About Pamela
I am an experienced, enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Science, who uses initiative and resources efficiently and effectively to deliver stimulating Science lessons for all learners across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4 in Biology, Chemistry and Physics in accordance with the school policy. My specialism at KS5 is in Chemistry (but I can also teach Biology) having followed a degree in Biomedical Sciences as well as supported by my years of experience.

I prepare and deliver lessons to a range of classes of different ages and abilities.
•I mark work, give appropriate feedback and maintain records of pupils' progress and development.
•I research new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge, and devise and write new curriculum materials.
•I select and use a range of different learning resources and equipment for experiments, textbooks, work sheets, visual aids and interactive whiteboards.
•I prepare pupils for qualifications and external examinations using guidelines from the specifications and science department policy.
•I manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and apply appropriate and effective measures in cases of mis-behaviour using the school policy.
•I undertake pastoral duties, such as taking on the role of form tutor, and supporting pupils on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties.
•I communicate with parents and carers over pupils' progress and participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole school training events.
•I liaise with other professionals, such as learning mentors, careers advisers, educational psychologists and education welfare officers.
•I supervise and support the work of teaching assistants, trainee teachers and newly qualified teachers (NQTs).
•I participate in and organise extracurricular activities, such as clubs, trips/outings, social activities and sporting events.
•I undergo regular observations and participate in regular in-service training (INSET) as part of continuing professional development (CPD).
