About Camilla
Standing in a quiet studio with a violin tucked under my chin is where I feel most at home. I have taught 39 students over 9 years of experience, balancing my BMus Piano Performance background with my love for strings.
Double stops, tone production, and scales and arpeggios are vital components of my technical framework. Focusing on posture and hold, spiccato and staccato bowing, and bowing technique allows for a healthy physical approach. Tuning by ear, vibrato, and shifting positions round out the skills I provide. Music has been my life since childhood, and I am happy to share that path with you as your patient teacher.

Sometimes it takes a few tries to get the bow hold exactly right before we can move on to tone production. My background as a BMus Piano Performance graduate helps me explain the nuance of double stops and shifting positions in a clear way. I emphasize posture and hold because comfortable playing is essential for mastering scales and arpeggios. We will spend time on spiccato and staccato bowing to ensure your technique stays sharp.
Tuning by ear and vibrato are introduced when you feel ready to add those colors to your sound. A 9.0 rating signifies the high standard I set for our technical work together.
