Whether its simplifying content or more importantly understanding what the examiners want then look no further.
My sessions are always dictated by the needs of the student and we will typically focus on building confidence in understanding and answering exam questions. Getting your written abilities to match your verbal abilities is key as so many students know the answer but just cant write it down in the exam in order to get marks.
Exams have changed significantly so there is less guessing what's going to be on the paper and a heavier focus on applying knowledge to questions. I will challenge you to tackle these and other types of questions so you are fully prepared for them.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I always say 50% of your grade in August will be down to the correct type of revision and the other 50% is down to how you interpret the exam question, together we will successfully tackle both. I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve something special.
- What kind of experience do you have?
My role as a senior examiner has given me a true insight into how Psychology exam papers are set and marked having supervised the marking of thousands of exams since 2002. I was also part of the team that wrote and produced the new A Level Psychology speciï¬cations for 2008 and 2015.
I have been providing training and support to staff and students since 2003 and visit numerous schools and colleges regularly especially during the key revision season. I am a regular speaker for Keynote Educational Ltd and also run successful staff and student Psychology webinars for Resourcd.com. I have written articles for Psychology Review and my new revision guide for A Level Edexcel Psychology was published by Hodder on March 31st 2017

My daughter was recommended Ali as a tutor as she was really struggling. For her mock a level her result was an E, previously in test results a U. We were in a situation where my daughter, who has dyslexia, could not get what her school teachers were teaching her. She was really struggling. Ali was recommended to her. From the get go, Ali understood my daughter. Instead of struggling with the psychology subject matter, it was like a light switch had gone on within her. She got it. Her sessions via Skype with Ali were interesting, informative & constructive. My daughter took away more academic understanding that she used throughout her subjects. Her final grade a B. Her results overall BBC which ensured she secured a place at Swansea university - starting September 2020. So from going from demoralised & anxious. My daughter worked hard, with Ali’s help & is so happy & accomplished. Ali made her sessions fun too! I absolutely recommended Ali to everyone who feels they need help. He really is exceptionally good at tutoring & turning everything around - don’t get me wrong - the student needs to work hard too but Ali’s help is absolutely worth it. Thank you beyond words Ali. Pip
Ali was a great teacher who helped to boost my confidence leading up to my A levels. He gave me clear instructions on how to improve my work alongside notes and further explanations on topics I found tricky. I highly recommend Ali!
Ali supported me getting through my second year of A Levels. Ali's knowledge of exam technique was phenomenal and where his expertise laid, reviewing my essays every week brought my confidence up after disappointing AS results and I walked into my final exam with ultimate confidence. He also clearly knew the topics thoroughly and could simplify complex concepts into the daily life which helped me to remember these psychological beliefs in a much easier manner.
Ali was an excellent A level tutor and we were thrilled with the A* grade that our daughter achieved. She said Ali was an amazing support for her and helped her with exam and revision techniques as well as gaining a wider understanding of the subject.
Ali’s help was invaluable in helping me achieve my final grade. He provided useful revision notes and tasks. Always happy to help in which ever way he can and made It interesting and fun.
Ali is a very good tutor and personally the best I've had at any means of learning. He is very knowledgable about psychology, gives students respect and offers a means of teaching not taught in school. Before I came to Ali I was a C student and with only a few lessons Ali very much helped me achieve my A in A level. If you are in need of a tutor in psychology then I would very much recommend Ali.
I would recommend Ali as a psychology tutor. He was professional at all times, always on time and an excellent tutor. My daughter got an A* in psychology A level and he definitely played a huge part in her attaining this grade.
Well worth the money. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a tutor.
TLDR: Great Tutor, very helpful (definitely improved my overall grades) .
I had Ali as a tutor from January and through exam season. During this time we focused a lot on my exam technique. (Ali has great expertise in this subject. For example by explaining to me the thought process of the examiner consequently allowing for me to remove the parts of my essays which would not gain credit.) As well as this, we also explore other interesting topics related to AQA Psych topics which had not been covered in my sixth form lessons. Furthermore Ali was able to swiftly explain all of the concept required that i needed explaining in a concise discussion style of tutoring.
I would highly recommend Ali for a tutor for psychology, I honeslty couldn’t have done A-level psychology without him so I would 100% get in touch if you need an extra push, brought my confidence up miles.
Ali tutored my son for Psychology A Level, focusing especially on exam technique. This was very effective and his grade certainly improved as a result. The session was packed with lots of information, targeted to his needs and provided really useful feedback on work done during the week. Definitely recommended!
