My past study and work journey has taken me across four different countries, immersing me in diverse cultures and languages, which I've grown to love and appreciate. As an experienced bilingual Chinese tutor, my approach to teaching Mandarin and Cantonese is rooted in my rich personal experiences of learning new languages. I understand the essence of acquiring speaking skills Chinese and am adept at integrating practical psychology knowledge into my classes. This unique blend of language learning and psychology makes the learning experience not only more efficient but also enjoyable.
Each lesson typically lasts 60 minutes, during which I employ a variety of teaching methodologies tailored to the individual needs of my students. With a decade of experience teaching Mandarin and Cantonese to young adults and expats in Shanghai, I bring a wealth of practical knowledge to my tutoring.
Currently, I am also a part-time postgraduate Psychology student, further enriching my understanding of learning processes. My lessons are designed for a wide range of students, aged 12-65, whether you're learning Chinese for academic purposes, work, business, or simply as a hobby or for travel.

Perfect! Sonia's lessons have boosted my learning progress. She is well organised, friendly and enthusiastic, and even ready to answer questions outside of lessons.
