About Ivan
I've spent time teaching drama and tutoring students for their GCSEs, and it's given me a genuine feel for how people learn - how to explain something several different ways until it lands, how to build confidence in someone who's nervous, and how to keep sessions structured without losing the sense of fun. That experience is a big part of why I want to teach piano: I already know I enjoy teaching, and I want to bring that to the subject I know best.
Piano has been part of my life for 15 years, built on years of classical training, and culminating in ABRSM Grade 8. It's taught me patience, discipline, and the quiet satisfaction of steady, hard-won progress - and I'd like to help others experience that too.
I'm drawn to teaching because I remember what it was like to be a beginner, and I know how much a good teacher's encouragement can matter. Combining my teaching experience with my years at the piano, I'd like to make lessons feel less like a chore and more like something worth getting excited about - for students of any age or level.

After 15+ years of playing piano and reaching ABRSM Grade 8, I know what actually helps progress: solid technique, smart practice habits, and repertoire that keeps you motivated. My lessons are built around understanding why something works, not just memorising how.
Whether you're a complete beginner or already playing but stuck on a plateau, I'll tailor lessons to you - building strong fundamentals through pieces you'll actually enjoy, or helping you prepare for ABRSM exams with focused work on repertoire, sight-reading, and aural tests.
I offer a first lesson at a reduced rate, so there's no pressure - just a chance to see if we're a good fit before committing to anything longer. I'm patient, encouraging, and genuinely enjoy helping people fall in love with piano the way I did.
