About Karon
I am a level 3 teaching assistant with 23 years’ experience within primary education. Within this time, I have mainly worked within key stage 1 and feel that this is where my strengths and expertise are. I am a confident, understanding and an assertive teaching assistant looking to take on a new opportunity and make a real difference to the young students I work with. It is very important to me that my work helps them achieve the best of their ability/I have an extensive background of working with children and feel that my hands-on approach contributes immensely to the education I can deliver. My interpersonal and communication skills both with colleagues, parents and students have developed over my career and I feel this is a vital skill to have within an education setting. I offer positive support both within the classroom and within the wider school environment including supporting 1:1 children at playtimes. I can provide behaviour management, confidentially and calmly addressing any behaviour issues that arise. For the past 8 months I have also tutored numerous key stage one students with extra sessions, I have tailored each lesson to suit the student. I have been able to identify the student’s strengths and weaknesses as well as understand their learning styles to ensure their learning is enjoyable.
