About Katie-Jo
I worked in education at a leading independent school for over a decade, whilst regularly performing in my spare time and featuring on a number of professionally released tracks as both a keyboard player and backing vocalist.
I'm also a disability advocate and work closely with the home-educating community.

I've been playing the piano since I was three years old, and began teaching when I was 15.
I especially enjoy teaching beginners, and those with additional needs, disabilities and injuries that require patience and rehabilitation.
I became a passionate advocate for this after breaking my hand (badly) and re-learning to play, after being told that would never be possible!!
Lessons are typically 45 minutes, although this is negotiable based on learners capacity/ability.

KJ is so generous with her time and knowledge. She is patient and kind when guiding people through new territory and I'd highly recommend her.
Katie Jo made me feel comfortable from the start her piano lessons were unpressured which made them fun and I learnt to have confidence to play not only by reading music but by ear which is a useful skill to have. She was always encouraging which made me want to practice in between lessons . I would recommend her to anyone else.
She’s a lovely person and an experienced tutor as well as being an excellent pianist.
