About Janina
I hold a Master's Degree in Linguistics, including teaching ESL. I have done it for years and years back in Europe, then in Winnipeg and now in Vancouver, Canada. Students acquire confidence in speaking English once they realize that no matter what or no matter how, they can communicate or send a message across the world without speaking Chinese, Russian, French or any other language. Once you have acquired the fluency in English, you can reach anybody in any corner of the world. It feels like the world shrinks in size thanks to your ability to communicate in English internationally. Isn't it a wonderful feeling?

ESL sessions are strictly in English, no mother tongue(s) applied. This builds up comprehension/understanding based on a specific circumstance presented to students. Even if a student may be uncertain about the actual meaning of expressions presented, they will ultimately get the true meaning of the English words or expressions. Repetitions are pivotal given that in addition to the meaning there is a matter of pronunciation, accent, intonation which contribute to the actual meaning of a given expression or words. Simply said, if you point at yourself and say: my hair is blonde, while next pointing to a student with black hair, you would say: His/Her hair is not blonde. It is black. Understanding is obvious and unquestionable. I love teaching ESL to foreign students regardless of their ages or level of education. The results are practically always very satisfying.
