Scales and arpeggios form the structural bedrock of my 13 years of performing across Canada as a violinist. Mastery of spiccato and staccato bowing often feels like a purely technical endeavor until you hear how these movements transform a simple folk fiddle tune.
My Bachelor of Music from the UBC School of Music informs every technical correction I provide to teens and working professionals. Self-taught players frequently come to me because they struggle to find consistency in their tone production. I spent 6 years balancing classical concert halls with rootsy stage environments to develop this unique perspective.
Tuning by ear remains the most vital skill I impart to my students to ensure true musical independence. We will align your playing with your long-term goals.
