About Joe
Melodic phrasing and hook writing occupy my days as I help writers demo their ideas from scratch. I often remember the specific silence of a room when a student finally finds the missing lyric for their chorus. Building dynamics across a song is how I translate raw emotion into a professional sounding demo.
My 8 years of teaching songwriting and piano allow me to guide intermediate producers and content creators through the complexities of writing over chords. I hold a BMus from the Royal Academy of Music and treat every session as a space to construct music you actually want to make.
Helping gigging musicians refine their output remains the best part of my job. Co-writing is a skill I enjoy facilitating for bedroom producers.
I have taught a vast range of individuals at every level throughout my career. Sometimes we focus on the structure of a hook.
Other times we look at how to build tension. You write music on your own terms. I simply provide the tools.

Picture the sound of a bare piano melody slowly gaining weight as we layer instrumentation. You start by picking the music you love, and I guide you through the technical steps to create it.
My BMus background keeps the theory clear while we focus on your specific creative goals. We utilise my 8 years of experience to solve your writing blocks.
You will learn to demo your ideas quickly. Focus.
We practise co-writing and collaboration to sharpen your instincts. You get a short project after every lesson to reinforce the concepts we cover. I prefer a relaxed way of working that keeps the pressure low. We keep things creative and prioritise your individual taste above all else.
