About Lyle
Having taken part in School Bands since I started playing at the age of 9, I have been part of many different musical experiences. This includes touring around Europe with School, and later University bands, as well as playing in competitions and many local gigs. I have since started playing in a professional context, with a focus on Contemporary Pop styles such as Funk and Soul, and with a personal interest in Jazz. As well as this, I have my own live electronic pop project that I write and produce. I recently had the pleasure of playing Glastonbury Festival 2019, adding it to the list of many festivals I've been able to play. DBS Checked

I have spent the last 4 years determined to write my own music, and it has been a wonderful, amazing experience. I've set myself to many tasks learning all about different contemporary styles, and there never ceases to be a dull moment. I believe my previous experiences as a performer, writer and teacher make me a very good candidate for your next teacher! I believe that music is often mistaken as this painstakingly rehearsed performance, but songwriting, theory and using modern production software are the key focal points for actual creativity within music, along with improvisation, but I didn't need to tell you about how creative that is. My goal with students is to help them understand the music that they hear around them, and help them understand the process of adapting and combining different ideas and styles to create their own musical identity. I have found many of my students typically are: - Young children, whose parents are looking for a teacher who is more interested in flexibility and helping the child become inspired and self-motivated, rather than crushed by overly academic and strict teaching. - Learners who are interested in developing their musicianship, and curious about, but also a bit scared by JAZZ. - Learners who are interested in recording music, and want advice on both music and professional goals and the industry.

My son loves his piano lessons with Lyle.
Lyle is far from " stereotype strict piano teacher" . He makes the lessons very entertaining and variety music they play is far from classic piano. They play jazzy, pop, modern... I think this is the reason why my son loves it so much. There is no time to be bored.
Also Lyle got absolutely great approach to the children. Definitely recommend.
"Enthusiastic" doesn't do justice to Lyle's emphatic and free approach to teaching. Whatever your genre, Lyle will inject flair and passion into your lessons and your music.
Lyle is extremely warm, knowledgeable, and reassuring in his expertise. In the past, I have been made to feel like an idiot in my ignorance, but instead I was taught with simple elegance, and a lot of fun.
I would take back lessons again with Lyle in a heartbeat!Lyle has been teaching my son Piano, musical theory, music production... and to love music again. For over a year now they have been creating tracks together of different styles and genres. Understanding how different parts blend to create music. This has been done through various software which Lyle has also taught. But right now my son is inspired to play piano. He has inspired him to sit and jam just for the love of music. He gets home and plays. He plays before school. I think Lyle's best gift is in creating an environment for his students to play in their own way. Encouraging them to enjoy it rather than it being just another lesson. He makes a foundation of a love and understanding of music that will last.
