About Mae
I'm an A level student looking to help younger children widen their vocabulary in this beautiful language. I'm not a qualified tutor, I'm purely a passionate student who would love to help younger children exceed in their oral Spanish. Starting to learn a language is not easy, and I know from experience that only learning in a school environment is not always the best way forward. My own Spanish tutor took this same approach and I couldn't wait for my next session with her. Again, she wasn't a qualified teacher, but she spoke the oral language very well and she helped me unbelievable amounts as I never got to practise during school times.

I am currently in my last year of A levels, studying Spanish, Music Techlology and Business. I have a passion for music, both performing (singing) and producing. I have always spend a lot of time in Spain due to my parents having a house out there, which we spend approximately 4 months of the year there. Over my life I've constantly been practising prodimiately my oral Spanish skills and would love to help somebody else perfect their oral skills, as I have lots of experience of studying Spanish in school and the lack of oral practise students get during class time. From my own experience I understand that students learn better when they feel comfortable, and that speaking in a foreign language infront of their classmates can be very intimidating. I've found that the best method of becoming confident in speaking Spanish is purely sitting down with somebody you feel comfortable with, and trying to have a general chat. They can tell me about their hobbies, their friends, their school life, what's going on in the world and just general conversation but attempt it all in Spanish. Throughout the years of learning Spanish I have discovered that this is one of the best methods of perfecting your spoken language, because you're having conversations about things that genuinely interest you, and not a subject that your teacher has given to you on a sheet of paper to speak to the person next to you about. And as we speak I will correct any gramatical mistakes made and vocabulary they are unsure about in a friendly and least condescending. At the end of the day, the only way you can truly learn a subject properly is if you enjoy what you're doing and look forward to learning more. I would hope to think that my students would look forward to their next sessions with me be excited to learn this amazing language. If the students have any school work they wish to go over or feel unsure about, they are more than welcome to bring it to the sessions so we can go over it.
