About Fons
In 2007, I started playing guitar as part of a bet with one of my music teachers in secondary school. "I am able to play guitar in one year," I declared as I walked out of the music class—a class where I’d only just managed to scrape a passing grade. I hated learning the instrument at first; the pain in my fingers, no immediate success and bad sounding cover songs.
Aged 13, I had all the reasons to not give up (including a PlayStation 3 that was in the same room as my guitar). But, I never gave up; everyday I played, everyday I practiced. On the guitar I mean, not the PlayStation.
One year later, I managed to play the guitar and solidly pass the music class.
I didn't stop after that.
Since 2007, I've been playing guitar and exploring the vast and wondrous world of music. I began in the rock and metal scene, but soon discovered a passion for other genres, including jazz, bossa nova, and folk.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to perform with a diverse range of artists—both signed and unsigned, as well as tribute acts—and across various styles such as Jazz Fusion, Pop, Blues, RnB, Art-Rock, and Folktronica.
In addition to guitar, I have a strong interest in music technology, particularly guitar pedals and modular synthesizers, which further fuel my creativity and musical exploration.
Now, I focus on (song) writing sessions with bands and artists as a guitarist but also as lyricist or producer. In my spare time I'm learning to sing and play piano whilst also recording short songs that are released on a weekly basis.

Together we shape your way to music by discovering your artistic authenticity. It does not matter if you are starting out or more are an advanced musician, much of the joy and fun in playing an instrument comes from exploring, learning and expressing the music that is inherently you. Artistic authenticity is a central theme in the lessons and gives us the opportunity to explore music in a more intuitive, expressive, and personal way - your way.
In our lessons, we will explore and connect with music in a hands-on, supportive way that fosters a genuine, personal connection to the art.
Whether you’re curious about acoustic or electric guitar playing, songwriting, music theory, technology, or a mix of everything, I am here to help. Whether you are picking up a guitar for the first time or refining your skills, I am here to guide you on your musical journey and answer any questions along the way.
For Total Beginners
I offer detailed lesson plans designed to guide you from the basics to intermediate music theory, all while applying it directly on the guitar. Your learning tempo sets the pace—there’s no rush! We’ll consistently review what you’ve learned and gradually put it into practice in various musical settings.
For More Advanced Players
We’ll focus on your specific musical questions, challenges, and interests. Playing is where true understanding begins, and together we’ll develop and refine:
Picking techniques (whether with a pick, fingers, or both).
Harmony and composition skills.
Improvisation techniques and ideas.
Soloing skills across various genres.
Reading notation and sheet music.
These topics are just the beginning—music is a vast and exciting world with so much to explore!

Fons has been a colleague of mine in music for a couple of years now and I regard him as one of the most organized, professional and easy going guitarists I´ve worked with. He has extensive knowledge on music theory and technique concepts related to many different genres(jazz, gypsy jazz, alternative rock) to name a few. I find that he explains concepts in a way that is efficient and easy to understand with a lot of enthusiasm.
He loves what he is doing and it really shows through his collaboration and teaching.
From a professional standpoint he communicates openly and directly and he is very punctual and takes both his and his clients time very seriously. Not only is he a very knowledgeable guitarist but a very competent composer and arranger. I think he can offer a lot of excellent input for people trying to find their personal sound through the guitar!Fons is a very patient and knowledgable tutor! He will make you feel at ease and make sure you hit your goals as he is very motivated and driven.
