I am a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Goju Ryu Seiwakai and 2nd Dan Black Belt in Japanese Federation of Karate (Goju Ryu) since 2024. Started in Germany in 1973.

About Guenther
A German-born Australian, that had success in my Karate, especially when reflecting on having had the privilege of an outstanding Master, Hanshi Tokio Funasako, 9th Dan Black Belt (today) and over the years other masters and grandmasters. I must mention, that I am a Master Chef and have traveled for over four decades and hence my karate has in the last 15 years been given a renewed interest. About 8 years in Hong Kong and since 2016 here on the Gold Coast, Queensland. I am a member (Senpai) within our three Dojo's and very proud of the Club and its activities and achievements. A small point to make, there are no instant successes in karate. One must commit and participate regularly in order to step up the ladder of success.

With years of experience and during my earlier years also competed, I want to showcase the positive impacts karate training can have on an individual. Physically, emotionally, socially and in self-esteem elements. Creating over time confidence and self-control as well as self-management attributes. Becoming the individual that takes responsibility for his or her own attaining level/achievements. Participating is a good start. Being part of an elite interest group can be most rewarding.
