About YAN SHIN
I am third year music student BMus (Hons) in University of Edinburgh, majoring in violin and piano performance. I am about to enter my final year of study in the University of Edinburgh. I was awarded with Sir Beecham Thomas Scholarship in my first year as the student with the highest mark in instrumental performance. I also play violin in orchestras and for opera as well as accompany other instrumentalists on the piano.
I started teaching members of my high school's orchestra who were complete beginners. As a conductor, I was responsible to train the members so that they were equipped with violin playing skills to perform on stage with the others. We have won many medals including gold and silver medals in many competitions held in Malaysia.

I started teaching in my high school as a student and I am someone who is flexible and capable of working with people of any ages who would love to learn violin or piano. I believe every individual is different. The content and teaching style would hence be catered to suit individual's interest and ability, taking a more democratic approach. I am someone who enjoy performing very much and would love to inspire other people in finding their love in music!
