I really want my students end up enjoying their subject; anyone can rope learn facts, but that’s just dull. If you come to understand your subject to a point where you enjoy studying it, learning ceases to become a chore and your grades improve exponentially. I know this, because I never regarded myself as a ‘natural’ at sciences. I had to work, and find the methods that worked for me. I’m now studying my dream degree at university.
I tutor also for dyslexic students as I am myself and find there are some methods better studied to the way our brain works.
I approach the subject as a whole. I know at school level they like to give you pockets of information to learn on many different topics because of time restraint mainly. The only problem with this is you can get so hung up on certain facts or topics that you struggle to grasp a larger picture, or to bring it all together. I’ll help link things together for you. Once you understand why a fact is significant it’ll never leave your brain and you’ll use your understanding of how a certain system works to use on a different topic.
