About
Hi I am Jacqueline and I have been tutoring the SAT and ACT for more than 20 years. These tests can be intense and intimidating, so I try to make the preparation process engaging, emboldening, and even fun!
I love to help my students attain the score of their dreams and it is even more important to me that they feel empowered during the process. As they learn the techniques and see their scores rising, my students feel increasingly proud and confident, not only in the realm of the SAT, but more importantly, in the process of discovering the power of their own minds. The biggest compliment I get is when my students say: Jackie makes me feel smart.
I consistently help students get SAT score improvements of 300-400 points and often even more. I develop an approach for each student, using techniques and approaches to meet their individual learning style. I build on their strengths and help them meet their challenges. The SAT and ACT are predictable tests with a limited variety of question types. For each type, I teach clear, step-by-step strategies to enhance precision and accuracy. I make sure each student walks into the test armed with the confidence that they have a specific technique that works for them consistently to tackle every question on the test.
I hold a BA in Philosophy and English from Boston College, an MA in Theater from Villanova University, and an MFA in Film from NYU. My teaching experience includes serving as an adjunct professor in the English Department at Villanova University and teaching creative writing at Wilkes University. My creative and academic background helps me to make the test preparation process fun, engaging and exciting. My approach is to help my students achieve their maximum score potential in a way that is both rigorous and nurturing. I meet my students exactly where they are in terms of their scores, their level of anxiety, their academic performance and from there, we work together to get them closer to making their most ambitious goals into a reality.
