About Colleen
Hi, I’m Colleen! I’m a fourth-year undergraduate student with a strong background in statistics and the mathematical sciences, and I’m preparing to go into nursing. I’m very comfortable with biology and bring a well-rounded, analytical approach to tutoring that helps students truly understand what they’re learning—not just memorize it.
I create a supportive and approachable environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenges. My strength is breaking down complex concepts—whether in biology, math, or stats—into clear, manageable steps that make sense.
I’m patient, reliable, and focused on building confidence as well as academic skill. Whether you need help strengthening fundamentals or tackling more advanced material, I’m here to support your progress and help you succeed.

mGood to Know
As a tutor, I focus on making learning clear, practical, and confidence-building. My approach is centered around understanding each student’s needs and adapting my teaching style to match how they learn best.
Teaching Methodology & Techniques
I break down complex concepts into simple, manageable steps and use real-life examples to make material more relatable. I encourage active learning by asking questions, guiding problem-solving, and making sure students truly understand—not just memorize—the content. I also prioritize patience and a supportive environment so students feel comfortable asking anything.
Typical Lesson Plan
A typical session starts with a quick review of previous material, followed by introducing or clarifying new concepts. We then work through practice problems together, gradually increasing difficulty. I always leave time for questions and end with a summary or key takeaways to reinforce learning.
What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart is my ability to explain things in a way that actually clicks. I focus on building confidence, not just grades, and I tailor every session to the individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
Who the Lessons Are For
My lessons are suitable for students at the high school and early university level, particularly those who need extra support, clearer explanations, or help building strong foundational skills. I can adapt to different classes and learning speeds depending on the student’s goals.
