About Oliver James

Hello, I'm James a third year medical student with a passion for science. I also compete in both swimming and athletics.

My goal is to create a supportive and positive learning environment where you feel confident to ask questions, challenge yourself, and succeed.

I’m here to help you navigate complex topics such as organic chemistry and titrations, strengthen your understanding, and build a solid foundation for your future goals. I look forward to working with you.

About the lesson

Tutoring Approach and Teaching Methodology

My approach to teaching chemistry is rooted in building a strong conceptual foundation. I teach each chemistry concept step-by-step, ensuring that students fully grasp the underlying principles before moving forward. To reinforce learning, I provide clear, relatable examples that help students see how these concepts apply in real-world contexts. I aim to create a structured yet interactive learning environment, where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas. I use a mix of visual aids, hands-on exercises, and regular quizzes to test comprehension and retention.

Typical Lesson Length

A typical lesson lasts around one hour, though I can adjust the length as needed to match students' attention spans and goals. This hour includes time for concept explanations, interactive discussions, example problems, and a quick review to cement the day’s learning.

Qualifications and Experience

I received a H1 in my leaving cert chemistry exam and have progressed to study medicine in the University of Galway. I have taught chemistry online for the past two years to students who have went on to achieve their individual goals.
