About Aubyn
Academic Coaching is my profession, not a side hustle. I am deeply passionate about helping struggling students overcome their barriers so that they can be empowered through their educational journey. After failing high school, I attended college, determined to do well. By applying the concepts and skills I now teach to others, I was able to excel academically. I graduated from the University of British Columbia in the top 10% of my department. Next, I worked as a social worker with youth experiencing homelessness in Vancouver BC for 5 years. It was during this time that I honed my ability to build meaningful relationships with clients by helping them feel seen and understood. Motivated by my educational and professional experiences and a desire to help people in a new capacity, I transitioned into academic coaching in 2021. To deepen my professional knowledge in this new endeavor, I enrolled at the University of Western Ontario in 2022, earning a Master's of Professional Education, a specialized program focused entirely on teaching students with exceptionalities (exceptionalities is the term used in education to refer to any student with a unique learning need such as ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, or giftedness). Drawing from my personal and professional journey, I bring a unique perspective to this role. I believe that, with the right tools and support, all struggling students can transform their academic journey from one of failure and disappointment to empowerment and success.

Get Better Grades with Less Stress! I specialize in helping post-secondary students with ADHD, learning disabilities, and other learning barriers improve their grades while reducing stress. Through a coaching approach, I help you develop the executive functioning and academic skills needed to succeed. I'll teach you how to apply learning science so the time you spend studying really pays off. As a student with unique learning needs, you deserve expert support tailored to you. I hold a Master's in Professional Education (Teaching Students with Exceptionalities) and a Bachelor's in Social Work. My personal experience of overcoming academic challenges—failing high school, then graduating in the top 10% of my post-secondary class—gives me a deep understanding of the barriers you face and how to overcome them. Working with me ensures that nothing is overlooked in your path to success. We’ll start by assessing your strengths and areas for growth, then create a plan that builds on both. You’ll also receive a personalized Learning Plan, where we break down each course syllabus and develop strategies that play to your strengths. Our work together will focus on time management, motivation, and essential academic skills—like reading, writing, note-taking, and studying. Between sessions, you’ll practice, and we’ll review your progress, adjusting as needed for the biggest impact. I’ll be there to highlight quick wins, remind you of your strengths, and provide friendly accountability to keep you moving forward with less stress and more clarity. Whether you want to boost your grades, manage your workload without burning out, or find more balance in your life, I’ll help you get there by applying proven learning strategies and weaving in essential downtime for stress relief (which also improves learning!). Contact me today and discover the difference Academic Coaching can make for you!

Perfect! My teenager has ASD, and I was never able to figure out how to help with schoolwork. Aubyn has been able to help him figure out how to approach assignments. Schoolwork is going much better now. (And he likes working with her.)
