About Tina
I am someone who has been on the exact same journey as many of the learners I now support. I returned to education as an adult, completed an Access to Higher Education diploma, and went on to earn a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. So I get the mix of excitement, self-doubt, and determination that comes with going back into learning, especially as an adult with real-world responsibilities. I teach because I know how life-changing education can be. The Access course opened the door to a completely new future for me and I want to help others walk through that same door with confidence. Teaching adult learners is not just about covering the curriculum it is about helping people believe in themselves again. I love helping learners realise they’re more capable than they thought and watching their confidence grow session by session. It is incredibly rewarding to be part of someone’s journey to university, a new career, or simply a fresh start. My aim is to be the tutor I wish I’d had. One that is approachable, down-to-earth, and available when needed.

My tutoring style is warm, flexible, and focused on you as an individual. I do not believe in one-size-fits-all teaching. Instead, I take time to understand how you learn best. Whether that’s visual, written, discussion-based, or practical examples — and tailor our sessions accordingly. I break down complex topics into simple, digestible chunks, using everyday examples to bring ideas to life. Most importantly, I aim to build your confidence and help you feel in control of your learning. Each lesson lasts one hour and is carefully structured to maximise your progress without overwhelming you. We'll start by reviewing any areas you're unsure about, then dive into the topic in an interactive, step-by-step way. I also provide mini recap tasks and tips to reinforce your learning between sessions. I completed an Access to HE diploma myself. I understand the levels of anxiety and stress the course may cause. I use this understanding to guide learners like you, not just academically, but emotionally too. I work exclusively with adult learners studying Access to Higher Education Level 3 diplomas. Whether you’re aiming for a degree in health, social sciences, or another field, I’ll help you build the skills and knowledge to succeed.
