About Sophie
For over 12 years, I have been dedicated to teaching Piano and helping students unlock their musical potential. I work with school students, college students, and working professionals, providing lessons that are tailored to individual goals and learning preferences.
My teaching philosophy centres on patience, communication, and continuous improvement. I believe students learn best in a supportive environment where they feel encouraged to explore and grow.
My lessons cover scales, chords, rhythm training, finger exercises, music theory, sight reading, ear training, improvisation, and performance techniques. I focus on building strong fundamentals while keeping lessons enjoyable and engaging.
In addition to Piano, I teach keyboard fundamentals and music reading. These skills help students become more confident and independent musicians.
Through personalised instruction and regular feedback, I help students achieve meaningful progress and develop a lasting appreciation for music. My goal is to make every lesson inspiring, educational, and rewarding.

My teaching methodology is centred on communication, creativity, flexibility, patience, and practical learning. I believe piano lessons should help students enjoy music while developing technical skills, creativity, and self-confidence.
Students begin by learning proper posture, hand position, finger exercises, rhythm, note reading, and music theory. Once these skills become strong, they continue with scales, chords, arpeggios, dynamics, pedal techniques, sight reading, expressive playing, and performance preparation.
I use clear explanations, practical demonstrations, and enjoyable exercises to make learning easy and effective. Students are encouraged to understand each musical concept, ask questions freely, and practise regularly to achieve steady improvement.
Different musical styles are introduced throughout the learning process, allowing students to discover new interests. Creative activities such as accompaniment, improvisation, and musical interpretation help students become confident performers.
Besides piano, I teach keyboard fundamentals, rhythm training, ear training, music theory, sight reading, music appreciation, and beginner composition. These related subjects provide students with a complete musical foundation.
My goal is to guide students with patience and encouragement while helping them develop strong piano skills, confidence, creativity, and a lifelong enjoyment of music.
