About Ava
I am a passionate and dedicated tutor with 4 years of experience teaching SAT prep to high school and college students. Over my career, I have successfully guided 300-350 students, helping them achieve their academic goals and unlock their potential. My love for education drives me to create personalized and engaging learning experiences that cater to each student's unique needs. One significant milestone in my career was seeing several of my students achieve perfect SAT scores and gain admission to top universities. My teaching methodology for SAT prep is centered around motivation, empathy, flexibility, problem-solving, and strong communication. I believe in motivating students by setting clear, achievable goals and celebrating their progress, which boosts their confidence and keeps them engaged.
Empathy allows me to understand each student’s unique challenges and tailor my approach to meet their individual needs. I am flexible in my teaching methods, adapting lessons to suit different learning styles and paces, ensuring that each student can grasp complex concepts effectively.
Problem-solving is a key focus, as I teach students strategies to tackle difficult questions and manage their time efficiently during the exam. Clear and open communication is essential in my classes; I encourage students to ask questions and provide regular, constructive feedback to help them improve.
In addition to SAT prep, I also teach GED and ACT prep, covering all relevant subjects to provide a comprehensive learning experience. My goal is to equip students with the skills and confidence they need to excel in their exams and future academic endeavors.
