About Jules
Hey!
I am a professional actor with over 10 years experience (Apple TV, Netflix, Barbican, National Theatre, Southbank, Theatre503, Polka Theatre) and have recently been nominated at the Oliviers & Off-West End Awards - nominated production for Best production and Best Ensemble (2026).
I am represented by United Agents & graduated from Drama Centre London at Central Saint Martins, UAL (BA 2016-2019), this school really encouraged me to merge classical training with creativity, making theatre/films that have an artistic edge.
Other previous training include: Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (Gap Year) & National Youth Theatre (Playing Up).
As a Director:
- I have worked across drama schools and institutions such as: Drama Centre London, Fourth Monkey, Collective Acting Studio, Giles Foreman Centre of Acting, National Youth Theatre and Outside Edge Theatre Company (the UK’s leading charity dedicated to addiction recovery through theatre and drama) and NLPAC (New London Performing Arts Centre).
I have worked extensively with young people to help enhance their process of theatre-making and developing a deeper understanding of acting.
- I have coached students during & after their drama school training to support their learning, navigating the industry and artistic development while also sharing fitness advice.
- I have written and directed my own productions which was fully funded by the Arts Council & I have received a 5* at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2025.
- Jules has founded a group called ‘Sama Sama’ which is a collective that encourages collaboration through filmmaking. It gathers passion-driven creatives to come together and experiment with new ideas! In two years, the collective has made 18 short films.
Movement Coach:
- Jules Chan was personally selected to learn about Drama Centre’s movement system directly from Liana Nyquist, who was the head of movement. Since working with her, he has coached professional actors to prepare for film.
- At Drama Centre London, he worked on Character Solos where students have to write and prepare a character and a scene, where they fully embody a character.
Movement Director Credits include: ‘Karen’ by Sara Cameron West at Underbelly, Cowgate, Edinburgh Fringe. ‘An Intervention’ by Mike Bartlett, Riverside Studios. ‘Invisible Animal’ by Tom Manning, Omnibus Theatre.
Other Creative Mentions:
- I have also founded ‘Symposium’ which is an open mic & creative meet up event where artists come together to express their work on a platform that encourages sharing the process and conversation. It is a vibrant community for experimental and professional work.
- Previously crowned Mr Philippines UK 2013 in a competition that encourages public speaking, charity work & well being.

I believe that being an actor is about unleashing your creativity and embracing the imaginative process that comes from your authentic self. Step by step we will unravel your confidence to explore your process and to share your craft whether it is in auditions for jobs, drama school, filming self-tapes or understanding your drama school training!
Whether it is for adults looking for coaching, for young people auditioning for drama school or those looking to work on LAMDA exams - my style of teaching is adaptable for those who want to learn more about acting and being creative.
I like to work as a collaborator, helping you find a deeper sense of expression through play and exploring together what works for you. We will unravel the meaning of ‘process’ of an actor and explore how your creative voice is developing with your ability to ‘act’.
Let’s design a bespoke training catered for your desired goal or outcome whether it is to learn more about:

- Understandingthe process of auditioning and what to prepare.
Movement Coaching:
- Creating character
- The body of an Actor (Movement technique)
- Wellbeing for the actor: with my background in Fitness (Mr Philippines UK winner & fitness instructor at Gymbox London) we are able to learn about how to look after ourselves as a performer during shows, training, rehearsals and filming.
Professional development;
- Audition sides prep & analysis
- Character preparation on plays
- Self-tapes, CVs, Agents & further career
- Showreel
Creative Development:

Above all, I want you to feel in complete ownership of who you are as an actor, to feel ready because you are first and foremost someone who is able to play, to enjoy the process of being an actor and to embrace your artistry by expressing who you are.

Jules and I met at GFCA in London, i had the luck to have him teaching movement classes for my course. That was an amazing experience, his way of teaching leads your body to a journey every time, and after those classes you can feel more in your body and have a better sense of understanding how it moves and how you can move it.
I know Jules from workshops at the Giles Foreman Centre for Acting.
Jules is a brilliant teacher. With their physical movement background, they really know how to push you as an actor and get the most out of you. I was surprised at where I could go physically as an actor and learned so much about myself in the process. Their teaching methods were a great balance of teaching and discussion, and it felt like a shared experience with lots of space for questions and discussion. With their background in Laban and Yat work and through their mentor, Liana Norton, Jules has a great background to teach, and I highly recommend them.He was my teacher at the Giles Foreman Centre for Acting for one term, and I found him to be incredibly professional and dedicated.
He taught movement psychology and acting methods, and his approach was both inspiring and practical.
On a personal level, he is a wonderful person who always tries to help actors develop their craft. I’m always happy to see him and receive his feedback because I know it comes from someone with genuine expertise and a sincere desire to help others grow.Working with Jules has always been both inspiring and motivating. His focus, patience, and attention to detail on set create an environment where everyone can do their best work. Jules is a true craftsman and an absolute pleasure to collaborate with.
Andre FyffeJules brings ENERGY! He brings creativity and a great collaborative vibe. I’ve worked with Jules in multiple capacities with him as a director and as an actor, every time it’s a joy! He instills extra confidence in everyone around him and has clarity on his ideas, can’t wait until we get to work together again.
I had the privilege of working with Jules when he was a director for my National Youth Theatre intake course. Jules’s ability as an acting coach goes far beyond technique and he is an absolute joy to work with. Through his work you can see his passion for his craft and for teaching. He showed a remarkable ability to truly see each actor as an individual and bring out their strongest and most authentic work. He provided me with endless positivity and constant incredible insight, patience, and a deep understanding of performance. He creates a lovely environment where growth feels both challenging and incredibly supported. Jules helps you to discover your uniqueness, experiment and encourages you to stretch yourself when creating ideas, therefore keeping your work organic. He has so much knowledge to share and wonderful words of wisdom, he was constantly providing our group with wonderful ways of expressing ourselves beyond our craft. He encourages you to bring anything and everything into the room, he celebrated all of the wonderful skills and talents of our group all of which became a part of our project.
I’d say what sets Jules apart is his true natural gift for helping actors connect emotionally, sharpen their instincts, and build real confidence in their craft. He is not only a committed artist with a vast knowledge and love for his craft, but is also a brilliant creator, exploring all approaches to projects through all aspects. Jules has a real passion for movement in his work and worked this into many of our sessions which unlocked so many new possibilities and outcomes in our work and gave me many tools which I have taken forward. His feedback is given with kindness, honesty and care, always pushing for excellence while making you feel capable of reaching it. Every session with him is thoughtful, inspiring, and deeply valuable. Working with Jules was an absolute honour and I would recommend working and collaborating with him in a heart beat!Jules was my NYT digital course leader back in 2024 and his influence has completely changed the way I look at the craft! Going into the course I doubted how much I'd be able to gain from digital theatre. Jules proved me wrong in the best way, and his perspective and passion for theatre has made a long lasting impact!
If you are lucky enough to have Jules as your acting coach, be prepared for your work to take on a level of dynamism and depth you didn’t think was possible since leaving drama school. His techniques, his commitment to the craft, and his devotion to creating a safe and supportive environment for you to explore is an absolute gift.
He took my one woman show KAREN to new highs and even the West End! I couldn’t have done it without him. He’s a very special teacher.View more recommendations
