About Isaac
I love teaching and derive a special pleasure from opening the gates of understanding for my students.
I grew up with a passion for understanding the world around me and the people within it. this lead me to pursue many varied interests early on such as music (playing the guitar and composing electronically), writing stories and drawing.
More than anything though, engineering and aviation captured my imagination and as a result, i pursued a career in aerospace engineering. I completed A-Levels in Mathematics, Physics and Geography as well as a BTEC in music technology before coming to the University of Sheffield in 2015.
Along the way, I developed a love for teaching and mentorship and have naturally filled these roles everywhere I have been; from mentoring in sixth form, to running study sessions in university.

- I prize genuine, deep understanding above all. I'm not satisfied until the student and teacher roles could be successfully reversed.
- Every person understands things differently, so I spend time getting to know my student and ensuring I understand the person and how best to deliver lessons.
- I believe in stretching my students. It is important for them to know what they are truly capable of, and where their limits lie. It is important that everyone has a knowledge of where they stand, their strengths, their weaknesses and how they can overcome them. As such, rich, hoenst feedback is an important aspect of my teaching and any student can expect a lot of it.
- Finally, I aim to inspire a genuine interest and appreciation for the importance and beauty of what I'm teaching. I do not teach anything I myself am not passionate about. I find that when you have a deep personal appreciation and intuition for an area, learning becomes easy.
