About Alice
- What kind of experience do you have?
While studying for my Primary Education degree, I taught at residential summer schools for Italian teenagers, helping them develop their use of the English Language both in spoken and written English. Throughout my course I spent time in a range of year groups through KS1 and 2 on teaching placements gradually taking on a higher teaching percentage through the 4 years. After I graduated in 2015, I spent time working as a supply teacher before I went travelling. This has given me a real understanding of the progression of learning throughout primary school as I was able to teach in all year groups and built strong relationships with the schools I worked with in Nottinghamshire. I have now been teaching at a school in Rotherhithe since Easter term last year and have been lucky enough to take my class from Year 4 into Year 5. I teach the full primary curriculum, aside from music as we have a specialist come into school.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have a current Enhanced DBS Check – copy available on request.
- Where and with whom did you train?
I completed a 4 year Primary Education degree (BA with QTS) in 2015 at Nottingham Trent University.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
Working with children in Year 5 is a challenging year group as we start to prepare them for the big SATS year! it's really important that children fill any gaps in their understanding at this time to be able to fully grasp more advanced concepts as they progress through the curriculum, this applies to both Maths and English! While this year is very important, it's also paramount that learning is fun, practical and engaging. This is what I aim to achieve through my teaching, to foster a love of learning as through this children really succeed. This has definitely been shown in my current class, when children enjoy what they are doing, they learn better.

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
We have loved having Alice teach our daughter in preparation for the Year 2 SATS, Emma went into them feeling much more confident!
Alice was a fantastic tutor for my son, Daniel, when he was preparing for the common entrance exams. She was able to quickly assess what gaps he had in his maths knowledge and quickly planned tasks to address these. She was calm and relaxed and he really enjoys his sessions with her.
