About Prerna
I was born an artist, studied for business, worked in the corporate world and eventually chose to become an educator. With my mad mix of working knowledge of the real world and my creative approach towards learning, my priority remains building curiosity and wonder in my students. The lessons are intentionally designed to push your thinking, your conditioning, and to ask the uncomfortable questions in a safe space. We play games, write stories, flip the narrative, build original plots and characters, and try to work with content inspired from real world experiences. As I move forward as an educator, my main objective is not content delivery but to become an anchor that holds my students as they navigate through their journey, and to be the manure they need to help them thrive.

My writing collective 'Fluo' (which means 'flow' in Latin) has been around for 3 years as an online creative writing session. However, over the past year Fluo has evolved into a space where students are encouraged to think deeply about any content they engage with - whether it's the news, a story narrative that appears biased or appreciation for a beautifully written poem. At Fluo, we allow students to discover and engage with text at their own pace without rushing towards performative writing. We discuss depth, value, relevance, and language, which eventually lead to higher order thinking. We offer hybrid sessions and our students are articulate, insightful and natural deep thinkers who choose to write, read and express themselves in the most meaningful way possible. Our youngest is in Grade 6 and our oldest is in Grade 12. Once you check in, it's hard to let go of your Fluo :)
