About Amalia
CONVERSATION ENGLISH: These classes are extremely interactive, and can be individual or for a group, of any age and with any theme. I love games and dynamic classes that force you to think in English and help to take the shame out of speaking English. US UNIVERSITY: I graduated from an Ivy League university (8th in the world), and I have 2 years of experience preparing applications for American universities. In addition, I can help with finding programs and funding, internships and be a guide to the transition there. ACADEMIC ENGLISH: I have 2 years of experience teaching academic English: one year at the Polytechnic in Quito, Ecuador and the other at a federal university here in Brazil, through the Fulbright scholarship. However, this does not mean that you need to be an “expert” in English to attend my classes. It also doesn't mean that my classes are boring! I believe in a learning style that incorporates games, videos, interesting audios and conversation topics relevant to your field of study. TOEFL: I have a year of experience teaching TOEFL preparation class, and my class also comes with an extra class plan and all the necessary exercises, depending on how much time you have to prepare.

I am a friendly teacher who loves to learn languages. I know how to teach the grammar and conversation in English, always with the support of audiovisual resources, games and interesting activities. I know that learning a new language is difficult (even more so with Portuguese!), But I also know that the best way to learn is immersion, with dynamic activities to make learning fixation happen as naturally as possible!
