About Charliy
I have always wanted the chance to be a tutor but I am new to it. I have enjoyed working with younger children during my time at Pizza Hut (lots of pizza making birthday parties) and at a pottery painting shop (also lots of birthday parties), showing that I can demonstrate responsibility and leadership whilst still having fun. From completing the 11+ to present, education has been a fundamental part of my life. I've always really enjoyed studying and learning and so the opportunity to help someone with these skills is exciting and rewarding.
As stated above, I am currently on track for a first class honours Bsc at KCL in Biomedical Sciences but also achieved A grade at A level and A* at GCSE in Biology.
I am approachable and easy to ask questions to, and my passion for the subject makes me interested to know the answers. I believe that self- confidence and mindset are a massive part to academic success and so I teach with a motivating attitude that encourages students to appreciate their own strengths.

I have always had a passion and interest in biological sciences, which has been illustrated in my high academic attainment in the subject from an early age. This early interest was nurtured and honed at university and I am currently in my 3rd year studying Biomedical Sciences (Bsc) at King's College London. My degree has greatly advanced my skills in both pressurized (exams) and extended (coursework) work as well as general study behaviour and outlook. Thus far, I have been working at a consistent first class standard and have specialized in biochemistry, specifically metabolism and gene expression which I am particularly passionate about. This being said, the 1st year of my degree was extensive in material coverage and covered most topic areas to a high level of detail. My average grade for 1st year was 82%, showing that I am comfortable with a general biological understanding.
For this reason, I am offering tutoring for any level up to 2nd year undergraduate including GCSE, AS and A level students. I believe that learning is a very much individual process and so want to work with you to optimise our time, depending on the skills that need work. Examples of ways I could aid exam technique include: more efficient time management by familiarizing exam format and playing to your strengths ( eg. knowing the syllabus; tactical sequence of completing the exam; being familiar with the mark scheme); maximizing marks gained by linking information to infer greater understanding (eg essay planning, encouraging reading due to interest, other sources of information such as videos or online quizzes) and understanding difficult topics. Examples of ways I could help with coursework technique include: time management of task, planning skills, reading/referencing skills and writing style help. These are just some ideas, but as I said before it is largely dependent on what you need- and also how you learn. There are so many different resources that lend themselves to different styles of learning- audio, visual, verbal just to list a few and the technology that is present today gives us the opportunity to see what works best for you. (If you don't know what works best for you, we can make it our mission to find out).
Really look forward to hearing from you- don't hesitate to contact me with any queries :)
