About Sharon
Starting with a chord progression, we usually jump right into the mechanics of your chosen piece. I work on barre chords, strumming patterns, and electric technique until everything feels natural under your fingers. Soloing and improvisation are constant themes in our work as we read tabs or explore acoustic technique.
You might find that we spend time on lead guitar nuances that define the Latin style. We cover a lot of ground in each session. I offer a free trial session to assess your starting level and discuss your goals. These lessons are meant to feel like a rehearsal for a real show.
I aim to help you build confidence in your musicality. It is a pleasure to guide you through these techniques with care.

Playing at a noisy bar in the local Latin circuit was where I first realized that technique is only half the battle. I hold a Diploma of Music from JMC Academy and have spent 13 years performing live across Australia. Teaching guitar is an extension of those nights spent under stage lights. My focus remains on teens, working professionals, and performance-focused students who want more than just theory.
It is quite a journey, finding the right sound after so many years in the industry. I have worked with a wide range of players, adapting to their specific needs. My teaching style is grounded in the traditions I learned early on.
I find that connecting with the Latin diaspora community keeps my work fresh and honest. Music is a lifelong pursuit, after all.
