About Ryan
A typical session starts with a deep breath and a quick check of your current progress on a specific piece. Picture the moment your fingers finally find the right shape for a complex chord during an improvisation exercise. We break down lead guitar passages to ensure your timing matches the underlying rhythm section perfectly.
This 13 years of experience allows me to spot minor tension issues before they cause trouble for working professionals or busy exam candidates. Sometimes we slow everything down to half speed.
Attention to detail is essential. You will learn to internalise the patterns rather than just memorising shapes on a page. My method relies on patience and clear communication throughout your musical development.

Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester provided me with a Master of Music in Voice, which informs how I approach teaching guitar as well. You deserve a mentor who notices how your mind processes music and adjusts the pace accordingly. 126 students have joined my studio over 13 years of experience, and each one brings something new to the fretboard.
My technical focus includes power chords, reading sheet music, lead guitar, reading tabs, and improvisation and soloing. Keeping things clear and simple matters when learning complex fingerings.
Please bring your questions about theory or technique to our first meeting. I enjoy seeing students connect with their instruments in ways that feel honest and true to their own style. Hopefully, we can create something meaningful together.
